Bike and Hike with Pride

Saturday, Aug. 13th, 11am
Rain date Sunday, Aug. 14th, 11am

Dress in your most flamboyant outdoorsy clothes and join us  as we Bike and Hike with Pride through Northside Fredericton and out to Currie Mountain. Once at Currie Mountain, we’ll wander up to the old brick stove to share lunch (important – please bring your own!) then take some time to wander and explore, heading back to town as we are each ready.

We’ll be leaving the Trail Info Booth, on the Northside just off the walking bridge, by 11am. There will be pick-up spots along the way for those who may live nearer Nashwaaksis or Douglas and prefer not to double back. Contact DSkidmore@frederictonpride.org for details. For those who can’t or don’t cycle, you can meet us at the foot of Currie Mountain around 12:30 then join us for the hike.

This is a D.I.Y. (do it yourself) and Pack It In, Pack It Out event. In other words, bring everything you’ll need including food, water, insect repellant, and anything else… and take out everything you have brought in including juice containers, tissues, or cigarette butts.

Currie Mountain is a long extinct volcano, home to rare flora not often seen in this area. Trilliums and Jack-in-the-pulpits are common there, as are deer sightings.
