From the FLAG News Service:

GLBTTIQ REFUGEES IN CANADA

A free information session

Thursday June 16 at 7 PM
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Fredericton

David Pepper, a long-time gay activist from Ottawa, is doing a cross-Canada speaking tour to promote “Group of 5” and community sponsorships of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender refugees.

David will speak about the desperate situation of GLBT/Queer people around the world who are persecuted due to their sexual orientation or gender identity, and on how ordinary Canadians can help save them by sponsoring them as refugees in Canada.

This is a rare opportunity for Frederictonians to find out about this neglected but urgent issue, and about how they can make a tremendous difference in the lives of GLBT people who are persecuted around the world.

Bullying Canada (www.bullyingcanada.ca) and North Star Triangle Project have partnered together to bring you this information session.

The North Star Triangle Project was founded by David with the aim of educating and mobilizing Canadian GLBT communities about GLBT/Queer refugees. More information about the project is available at: http://www.northstartriangle.blogspot.com

There is no fee, but people who wish to attend should pre-register by phoning 1-877-352-4497 extension 203.
