C-389 PASSED House of Commons

Bill C-389, an act to include “gender identity” and “gender expression” in the Human Rights Act and criminal code concerning hate crimes PASSED in the House of Commons today, Wednesday, 9 Februrary: 143 FOR, 135 against. Thanks to Bill Siksay (MP Burnaby-Douglas) for his heroic work getting this bill through the House of Commons. It now goes through a similar round of votes in the Senate. Bill Siksay has already begun the process of talking to members of the Senate to get it passed. Let’s not stop now, people. Contact members of the Senate and start telling them to vote for C-389.
